Litchfield Tourist Park

Litchfield Tourist Park is one of the parks we remember so fondly from our travels. We had such a great stay here, so we were thrilled when they reached out to become a TAWK Park and offer TAWK Members two nights of FREE camping for kids.

The park has a fantastic café open for breakfast and lunch, and you can also pre order meal kits or BBQ packs to make things easy when you arrive. Check their website for all the details. There is also a swimming pool, which our kids absolutely loved. Sometimes that was all they wanted to do, even after a full day exploring the amazing sights nearby.

This is the perfect base to explore Litchfield National Park, one of our favourite national parks in the Top End. Everything is relatively close together and easy to access, which makes it great for families. Our kids especially loved Buley Rockholes, where you can spend hours swimming and exploring.

If you are travelling with your dog, well behaved pets are welcome at the park. They even offer a free pet checking service while you are visiting the national park, since pets are not permitted inside the park itself. A staff member will stop by your campsite every couple of hours to make sure your pet is comfortable and has water. This option works best for pets that are happy relaxing quietly at camp during the day.
