Beechworth Lake Sambell Caravan Park

Beechworth Lake Sambell Caravan Park contacted us to offer TAWK Members two nights of FREE camping for kids, which to us is always a great sign that a park truly supports travelling families.

Beechworth is widely recognised as Australia’s finest historic gold mining town, which makes it a wonderful place to mix adventure with a bit of learning along the way. The town is full of reminders from the gold rush era, and you can even walk in Ned Kelly’s footsteps with guided daily tours through the historic precinct. The kids will also love the chance to try fossicking for precious stones or flakes of gold.

The caravan park itself is within walking distance of town, making it easy to explore Beechworth’s cafés, shops and historic streets. The park also offers mountain bikes, canoes and kayaks for hire, or you can simply spend time swimming and fishing in Lake Sambell.

One of our favourite touches is that campfires are permitted in designated areas, or you can hire movable fire bins and firewood so you can enjoy your own campfire right at your site. We love that.
